Why it matters

Why does website optimisation matter?

A slow page, a confusing layout or a long form quietly loses customers every day — and indexing problems can stop pages appearing in Google at all. Website optimisation fixes those leaks. It is often the cheapest way to grow, because improvements apply to every visitor from every channel.

How it works

Our process

  1. Measure Baseline speed, Core Web Vitals, indexing status and conversion rates recorded.
  2. Diagnose Technical crawl, PageSpeed analysis, analytics review and session recordings.
  3. Prioritise Fixes ranked by impact and effort, agreed with you.
  4. Implement Our developers apply the changes, or brief yours.
  5. Verify Results compared with the baseline and reported.
Common fixes

What website problems do we fix most often?

  • Pages “crawled but not indexed” after a redesign
  • Uncompressed images and heavy sliders
  • Too many plugins slowing WordPress sites
  • Missing or broken conversion tracking
  • Contact forms with too many fields
  • Old URLs returning 404 instead of redirecting
Quick self-check

Five minutes to spot problems

Run your homepage and a key service page through Google PageSpeed Insights on mobile, open Search Console’s Pages report to see how many URLs are not indexed and why, and try to send yourself an enquiry from your phone. If the page takes several seconds to show content, many important pages aren’t indexed, or the enquiry takes more than a few taps, optimisation will pay back quickly.

Common mistakes

What mistakes do we see most in website optimisation?

  • Uploading photos straight from a phone. Multi-megabyte images are the most common cause of slow pages. Resize and compress every upload.
  • Too many plugins. Each plugin can add scripts to every page. Remove what isn’t essential.
  • Chasing a perfect lab score. A 100 PageSpeed score isn’t the goal — passing Core Web Vitals for real mobile users is.
  • Long contact forms. Every extra field loses people. Name, phone and one question is usually enough.
  • Redesigning without redirects. Changed URLs without 301 redirects lose rankings and create 404s overnight.

FAQs

Website optimization — frequently asked questions

Do you work on WordPress and Shopify?

Yes, along with custom-built sites. The approach is the same; the implementation differs by platform.

Will optimisation change my design?

Speed and technical fixes usually don’t. Conversion improvements may adjust layouts or copy, always agreed with you first.

How soon will we see results?

Speed improvements are immediate; Core Web Vitals data in Search Console updates over about a month; conversion gains show as traffic flows through the new pages.

Is a perfect PageSpeed score necessary?

No. The goal is passing Core Web Vitals for real users and a fast experience on mobile, not a perfect lab score.
